Payment & Insurance
ClareMotion Physical Therapy does not contract with insurance companies. Our services are considered “fee for service,” which means that payment is made in-full at the time of service. As a medical expense, patients can also use HSA or FSA accounts to pay for physical therapy services. We accept payment through credit card or HSA/FSA card. We do not accept or participate with Medicare.
As an additional service, we submit and file claims on behalf of our patients with primary insurance carriers.

Dr. Danielle Clare, PT, DPT, CMTPT
Owner & Physical Therapist
Dr. Clare received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the prestigious Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She has extensive experience in evaluating and treating a wide range of outpatient orthopedic conditions including sports injuries, high performance athletic improvement and function, pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation, spinal rehabilitation, and chronic pain management.
Dr. Clare employs various manual physical therapy treatments such as deep tissue mobilization, myofascial release, joint mobilization and manipulation of the spine and peripheral joints, trigger point release, and cupping therapy. She also utilizes taping methods such as McConnell and Kinesio Taping. She is certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling and is a Graston Technique Provider. Dr. Clare frequently incorporates these and other new and emerging treatments into her therapeutic armamentarium to provide the most effective care.
Embracing a holistic approach to patient care, Dr. Clare integrates her deep understanding of nutrition and wellness into her practice. She is committed to her core mission: to effectively care for a variety of client needs and provide the best individualized treatment in the greater Washington area.
Dr. Clare lives in Washington, DC, and is an athlete herself. She enjoys snowboarding, hiking, and competing in triathlons and Tough Mudder events.

Dr. Hope Pickus, PT, DPT, CMTPT
Dr. Pickus received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Stony Brook University, and after attending her final clinical internship in DC, she decided to move to the district full time. Dr. Pickus utilizes a multitude of manual therapy techniques including deep tissue mobilization, myofascial release, joint mobilization and manipulation of the spine and peripheral joints, trigger point release, and cupping therapy.
Dr. Pickus received her Trigger Point Dry Needling certification and often employs dry needling along with specified movement to address her patients restrictions and deficits. Dr. Pickus received a minor in Integrative Approaches to Medicine and strives to help her patients reach their full potential by looking at them as a whole.
Dr. Pickus works with a wide range of orthopedic conditions, including sports injuries, pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation, and has experience working with patients who have a POTS diagnosis, Fibromyalgia, and TMJ/TMD. She also received her LSVT BIG certification which allows her more insight into Parkinsons and other neurological diagnoses.
As an alumni of The Ohio State University, Saturdays in the fall are spent cheering on her Buckeyes. She has completed three half marathons, is an avid tennis player, and loves sitting in her hammock enjoying the beautiful weather.

Dr. Luke Shaefer PT, DPT, C-PS, Cert. DN
Dr. Schaefer earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Daemen University in Buffalo, NY. His clinical journey has taken him from New York to Florida and Minnesota, before recently settling in the Washington, DC area. Along the way, he has continued to deepen his expertise through advanced training in sports performance, dry needling, and a variety of manual therapy techniques, all with the goal of helping patients move, feel, and perform at their best.
Dr. Schaefer brings a broad range of experience to his practice. In addition to treating orthopedic and sports-related injuries, he has worked extensively with patients managing neuromuscular conditions such as ALS, MS, Parkinson’s disease, and Ataxia. He also has a strong background in vestibular rehabilitation, treating conditions including BPPV, VOR hypo-function, and post-concussion syndrome.
His treatment philosophy emphasizes a whole-body approach. He focuses on proper exercise technique, posture, warm-ups and cool-downs, and overall wellness to help patients safely and effectively stay active and pain free for the long term.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Schaefer enjoys hiking, training for Spartan races, and playing pickleball. During the fall, you’ll find him cheering on the Buffalo Bills every Sunday. Since moving to DC, he’s been enjoying exploring the city’s museums and discovering its diverse food scene.

Dr. Scott Fournier-Eaton, PT, DPT, CMTPT, Cert. MDT
Dr. Fournier-Eaton earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from The George Washington University. While attending school in the DC area, he enjoyed volunteering for several causes that were important to him, most notably, a pro bono clinic at the Little Sisters of the Sacred Heart. This experience highlighted his passion for helping underserved communities by educating and empowering them to lead healthier lives and improve their self-efficacy.
Dr. Fournier-Eaton has worked with a wide range of patients across the lifespan, treating both orthopedic and neurological conditions. He integrates a blend of manual therapy techniques, including trigger point dry needling, with customized therapeutic exercises to create a treatment approach that’s both evidence-based and highly individualized. At the core of his practice is a strong emphasis on collaboration, Dr. Fournier-Eaton believes in building care around each patient’s goals, encouraging open communication, and fostering a true partnership in the healing process.
Dr. Fournier-Eaton is also a certified McKenzie Therapist, which enables him to take a uniquely patient centered approach, empowering individuals with the skills and confidence needed for lasting results.
Outside the clinic, you’ll often find Dr. Fournier-Eaton staying active, whether it’s working out at VIDA, riding his electric unicycle, or inline skating around DC with WeAreSkateDC. He’s also an avid fan of pickleball and tennis, and recently jumped into the local kickball scene.

Traci Wood
Office Manager
Introducing our office manager, Traci Wood. Traci is eager to welcome you to ClareMotion Physical Therapy and make your scheduling experience with us as easy as possible.
Originally from New Jersey, Traci currently lives outside of Chicago with her husband, two children and three pugs. She is a graduate of George Mason University in Fairfax, VA and has many great memories of living in the DC area!
Traci is a volunteer for PugHearts pug rescue and has helped many homeless pugs find their forever families over the years (including 7 to her family).
She is a proud supporter of our nation’s veterans through her work on behalf of her Uncle Ronnie, who is missing in action from the Vietnam War, and through her involvement with national and local veterans service organizations.
Traci will be your first point of contact with us on the phone and is excited to help get you scheduled so you can begin your path to healing!
